It started with my own wedding.
Baking has always been part of my life, but it wasn't until 2022 that it became my passion. That year, I took on the challenge of baking my own wedding cake. What started as a labor of love sparked the creation of Y Cakes, my first venture into the world of baking and entrepreneurship.
Now, life has brought my family and me to North Carolina. De Blé is the new face of my baking passion — inspired by the French word for “wheat,” reflecting a commitment to artisanal sourdough and homemade cookies. This bakery isn't just about delicious treats. It's a reflection of my story, my resilience, and my drive to create something meaningful.
From marine biology to flour-dusted aprons.
I am Yeraldy, a proud Venezuelan who, like so many others, had to leave my homeland in search of new opportunities. Life in the U.S. has been both a blessing and a challenge. I went from being a college student in Venezuela to working night shifts in a Miami restaurant for $9 an hour (without tips) to support my family back home. I took on every job imaginable — from driving for Uber to delivering Instacart orders — all while dreaming of a brighter future.
My love for marine mammals inspired me to return to school, and in 2020, I earned my associate degree. By 2021, I was enrolled at the University of Alaska Southeast, working toward my bachelor's degree. We moved to Juneau, Alaska, to pursue my dream of becoming a marine biologist.
However, financial and immigration challenges forced me to pause my education. During this time, baking became my creative outlet — a way to find comfort and purpose in uncertain times. What began as a hobby quickly turned into a source of income and joy. Y Cakes was born out of this period, combining my passion for baking with my entrepreneurial spirit.

While Y Cakes focused on custom desserts and cakes, De Blé takes my love for baking to a new level. Rooted in the artistry of bread-making and the simplicity of natural ingredients, this bakery is my way of sharing my journey and creations with the world.
De Blé isn't just a bakery — it's a testament to perseverance, creativity, and the pursuit of excellence. It's where my story, my culture, and my dreams come together to create something extraordinary.
